Groundbreaking ceremonies postponed

The ceremonial groundbreakings for the high school and middle school located on the west site and the high school on the east site have been postponed due to rain.The groundbreakings were scheduled for Thursday and Friday but have been rescheduled for sometime in September, Diane Boyett, communication specialist for the district said.
The new schools are a part of the $159 million bond that was voters approved in May 2007.
Included in the bond are two new high schools, a new middle school, two elementary schools, an addition to Crain Middle School, capital improvements and a district events center.
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Land clearing on the east site is just beginning
Water pumps are being used on the west site to clear out water
Current delays will not impact the completion of the schools
