Trial begins for homeless man charged with burglary

The trial of a homeless man will charged with felony burglary of a habitation is scheduled to begin Tuesday.

Robert Cano, 49, is charged with entering a property without the consent of its owner in December.

He was indicted on March 3.

Cano, who is being represented by defense attorney Luis Adrian Martinez, has two previous convictions for delivery of a controlled substance.

The Victoria County District Attorney's Office will prosecute the case.

The trial is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. in District Judge Robert Cheshire's courtroom.
