Victoria area Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Venturers have begun their annual popcorn sale.

The sale, the organization's major fundraiser, benefits the groups' activities including camping trips and other programs.

It also teaches them to earn their own money and help pay their own way, said Cindy Shilinga, LaSalle District Popcorn Kernel.

The LaSalle District includes Victoria, Calhoun, Jackson, Refugio and Goliad counties.

Unit sales started Thursday and individual sales begin Oct. 1.

Look for Scouts at Walmart, Walgreen's, Lowe's, the Victoria Mall and other locations throughout Victoria.
