Police salary problem shouldn't have been issue
Editor, the Advocate:
Concerning the Viewpoint by the Victoria Advocate July 25, "It's time to pay attention to needs of police," I am in total agreement with the Advocate's position. Victorians, here we go again concerning Victoria's finest. Money! Money! Money!
City Council has no problem handing out big raises to some city employees; and yet the salary of Victoria's finest is up for debate. Unbelievable!
These fine officers have families they are raising, wondering if they are going to be part of Victoria's finest, while City Council beats the "salary scale issue to death."
Victorians, this salary fiasco should never have been an issue.
This should be a wake-up call to all voters that the terms of Armstrong and Halepaska, that are soon to be coming up on voting ballots, should be voted no, no, no!
Remember, Denise Rangel lost by 3 votes. Do not let this happen again. Let your vote be loud and clear.
