Victoria County landowners and land managers will soon have a chance to voice their opinions on natural resource concerns in the Crossroads.
The United States Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service, Victoria Soil and Water Conservation District and Local Working Group will host their annual conservation stakeholders meeting on Tuesday.
The meeting takes place at 1:30 p.m. inside First Victoria National Bank's Town Hall Meeting Room, 101 S. Main St., according to an NRCS news release
All Victoria County landowners and land managers are encouraged to attend and participate in the open-discussion public meeting.
Effective conservation stems from a locally led process, Diane Arnold, Victoria County's NRCS district conservationist, said in the release.
"The Victoria County NRCS office operates on the concept that local residents best understand local issues are the key to solving problems," she said. "Our conservation stakeholders meeting gives everyone the opportunity to decide how the assistance from the NRCS and farm bill funds can be most beneficial to our community."
Through the conservation district, the Local Working Group will make recommendations to the district conservationist on local natural resource priorities, criteria for conservation activities and program planning for the upcoming fiscal year.
Such issues are especially important in decisions made for financial assistance when implementing programs such as the Environmental Quality Incentives Program.
