50th Anniversary Serapio and Dolores
Serapio and Dolores Orta recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a renewal of their wedding vows followed by a reception, mariachi serenade, and dance given by their children at the Catholic War Veterans Hall with about 200 guests in attendance. Honorary guest included Mr. & Mrs. Rene Fuentes from Rio Grande City. Special guest: Jorge Gutierrez, & Julio Reyes of Victoria, Manuela Mireles, Mary Centeno, Mr. & Mrs. Enrique Orta & family, Becca Bazan & family all of Rio Grande City area, Mr. & Mrs. Philip Gutierrez of San Angelo, Mr. & Mrs. Fred Garcia of Refugio, Mr. & Mrs. Nick Garcia & family, Mrs. Pascual Garcia & family of Goliad, Mr. & Mrs. David Reyna, Joe Garcia, Mr. & Mrs. Senon Garcia Jr., Pat Luna, Victor Cisneros all from Houston, Mr. & Mrs. Rene Alvarez of Taft, Mr. & Mrs. Sabas Ruiz of Dallas and a special thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Johnny Luna.
They will continue their celebration by doing what they like to do best which is traveling and sightseeing. They plan to travel to different states during the year.
The former Dolores Garcia and her husband were married on June 13, 1962 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Tivoli, Texas. Serapio and Dolores reside in Victoria and have five children: Junior Orta, Sara Garza, Teresa Torres and Jessie Orta, all of Victoria, and Joe Orta of Tucson, AZ. The couple has 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Serapio and Dolores are members of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Victoria.
