Laureate Alpha Omicron holds meeting
The final business meeting of the year for Laureate Alpha Omicron Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi was recently in the home of Frances Smith with President Smith presiding.
Co-hostesses were Cora Clark and Dorothy Koenig.
Committee reports were given and chairmen for the 2012-13 calendar presented their agendas. Margaret Williams, program chairman, asked members to sign up for hostess duties and program presentations.
Parliamentarian Louise Pletcher read from the book of Beta Sigma Phi about career chapters, which meet once a month.
Smith presented the program for Cora Clark, who was unable to attend because of election duties. Smith read a children's book, "The Legend of the Donkey's Cross." All donkeys have a cross on their backs - the story told about Palm Sunday and the crucifixion of Jesus. Wayne and Cora Clark have raised and shown miniature donkeys.
The Ways and Means Committee will prepare a dinner celebrating our freedom on June 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the Smith home. Patriotic dress is encouraged.
Socials will be in July and August; business meetings resume in September.
Joann Locher, Sue Lynn Hatcher, Dorothy Koenig and Jimmie McGhee attended the state convention in Arlington June 8-10.
