Investigation continues into wreck that killed Hallettsville woman
Police continue to investigate a Wednesday afternoon wreck that left one Hallettsville woman dead.
The Hallettsville Police Department responded to a one-vehicle wreck at 161 Lay Street about 4:30 p.m., according to a department news release.
Upon arrival, authorities found Bernice Ehler Sevcik, 79, unresponsive inside her gray 2006 Nissan Frontier, which sat in a yard at the address.
Medical personnel transported Sevcik to the Lavaca Medical Center, where Justice of the Peace Michael Andes pronounced her dead at 5:05 p.m.
An autopsy was ordered.
