Cuero holiday display dark for 1 night be cause of highway accident
FROM A NEWS RELEASE
Cuero’s Christmas in the Park was dark Friday night because of damage caused when a tractor-trailer hit an electric support cable on U.S. Highway 87 across from the park.
A mobile home hit the support cable and snapped the electric pole into three pieces at the entrance to the park, said Mary Polansky, a member of the December Events Committee, which hosts the event.
City crews thought they could fix the pole and open the park by Friday night, but there was some underground damage, which will need to be repaired Saturday, Polansky said.
Christmas in the Park will open at 6 p.m. Saturday.
