Thank you to welding team supporters
Editor, the Advocate:
During the week of June 23-29, Tyler Hessler, Grant McGehee and Jeffrey Newport represented Texas and Victoria school district in the Skills U.S.A. National Leadership Competition in Kansas City, Mo., in welding team fabrication. The students placed first at district, first at state and were ranked in the top 2 percent of welding fabrication teams in the nation.
We are all extremely proud of these young men. The hard work and dedication for this competition was greatly appreciated, and I would like to thank the following supporters: parents of the students, Victoria ISD, Victoria ISD school board, Career and Technical Education staff, administrators and staff of Career and Technology Institute, Alcoa, Danny Reissig of Plans by Design, John Uresti of Safety Railway, PraxAir, Mark Moore of M&B Services, Allen Galvan, James Metting, Linda Vuillemin and RoseMarie Wright.
