Best Local Band/Musician: Clay Crockett and the Shotgun Riders

Clay Crockett and the Shotgun Riders was voted best local band in the 2013 Best of the Best competition.

Area country band Clay Crockett and the Shotgun Riders was voted Best of the Best in the Crossroads for the past two years.

"It's really nice of everybody who voted for us," said frontman Clay Crockett. "I think we won because we play a wide variety of music and try to be interactive as much as we can."

The band leader said his entourage likes to play at Schroeder Hall, the second-oldest dance hall in Texas, and other Crossroads venues.

"We're really glad Victoria is starting to pay attention to live music more," Crockett said. "We want to play more locally, and we're just really grateful we've been able to do this since we all have full-time jobs."
