Oceans For Emotions: Seek and you shall find
"And I say unto you, Ask, and it will be given unto you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it will be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened."
- Luke 11:9,10
Wouldn't it be nice if I could walk down to ocean's edge and say, "Ocean, Jesus said I could ask and then I would be given a fish. Since I am just a simple fisherwoman, I believe this, so I am asking for a 200-pound flounder without bones." Boy, I think that this is the first time I caused the ocean to have a rip tide as it rushed away from me.
Next, I tried to find a perfect piece of beach. God gave me the most requested piece filled with boom boxes, teenagers and others trying to seek and find. One mouthy brat even yelled at me, "Get off of our beach, Granny. We have big plans tonight."
As I continued driving down the beach, I had to make a stop. Did you know that beach bathrooms stalls have no doors on them? There are no bathroom doors on which to knock. I began to wonder why I love to fish the beach.
I could go to the grocery store without asking, seeking or knocking on the doors that open for you and find exactly what I am looking for and not end up stinking up my car and myself - I could buy cleaned, de-boned and skinless flounder, just enough for each meal.
When people ask me if I caught anything lately, I always say, "I caught just enough."
Dear Lord, during this new year, help us to increase our faith by increasing our companionship with You through prayer.
