John Allen Mays

Born on June 19, 1949

VICTORIA - John Allen Mays, 63, of Victoria, passed away on May 1, 2013. He was born in San Antonio on June 19, 1949, to the late Johnie and Ella Piercy Mays. John was a self-employed Private Investigator and was founder of John Mays Investigations. John was a dedicated law enforcement officer and paramedic serving for many years with the Victoria Police and Fire Departments. He was also an EMT instructor at the Victoria College, licensed pilot, certified scuba diver and a FBI trained sniper.
He is survived by his former wife and best supporter, Patti Mays Hutson of Victoria
John loved life to the fullest. A man's man, John loved his dogs Stitch and P.T., fishing and riding his Harley. John will be missed by all who had the good fortune to know and love him.
The family will receive friends 5 - 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Services will be held at 10 AM, Monday, May 6, 2013, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels with the Rev. Donald Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Anthony, Billy, Jimmy and H.E. Fowler, Eric Abbt and Alton Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will John Augustine, Norman Jones, John George, Elliott Costos, Gary Arnold, Dale Lesikar, David Hernandez, Roland Ramirez, Aaron Burleson, Bubba Tumlinson, Timmy Fowler and John Dobbins.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dorothy O'Conner Pet Adoption Center and The Wounded Warrriors Project.
