Born on Oct. 10, 1933
SAN ANTONIO - Mable Adams, 80, of San Antonio, formerly of Victoria, went to be with her Lord on Monday, October 28, 2013, after her battle with cancer was won. She was born October 10, 1933 in Schaal, Ark., to the late Julian and Ethel May Hosey.
She lived a Norman Rockwell-like childhood, a country life with no electricity or modern conveniences, and was the 13th of 14 children. She graduated as Valedictorian of Mineral Springs High School and immediately went to work as a finger print specialist for the FBI. In 1951 she married John H. Adams, a farmer, and he was her husband for 48 years. John's work brought them to South Texas in 1972. She spent her life taking care of her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. As a matter of fact, children always put a smile on her face. She resided in Victoria for the past 40 years until her illness forced her to move to the San Antonio area.
She is survived by her 4 children, Mike Adams, Pat Adams (Cindy) of Victoria, Donna Foust (Ed) of Yorktown, and Tim Adams (Alison) of Schertz.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; 7 brothers; and 4 sisters.
A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Novembr 16, 2013 at First Baptist Church, 301 N Glass St., Victoria, after a luncheon at 12 p.m.
