The Advocate's criticisim of Council's refusal to accept the solar grant is reflective of the national thought process. Yes, cut spending, but not here and not on things that I want. Wake up! No person, organization or government can live beyond its means forever.
Victoria County is thinking the same way when it pleads for continuation of $500,000 to staff the airport tower. The postal union feels the same way about termination of Saturday mail delivery.

Yes, the administration is doing everything it can to make a small 2 percent spending decrease as painful as possible. We need to remember that Continetal Express flew 4 jet flights per day out of the airport without a working tower. If the county can earn more than $500,000 per year in landing fees and fuel sales, the county should pay to operate the tower. If the county cannot justify the operating cost then let the President follow through on his threat.
Almost everyone has a central spot where the days kitchen waste is deposited. If you want to recycle more, make that spot the collection point for recycle materials and establish a new, smaller, container for waste collection. It worked for us.

We should cut the DA's salary. He has caused the city, county and state to spend, in my estimate, over $500,000 on a number of charges against local officials and police. Most of his charges have been dismissed by the courts. We could save a lot of money and promote harmony if we cut his salary to a point where he quit! Or, we could vote him out of office.
You can't have a tax decrease! Remember, we voted to spend $145 million because our old HS buildings were too old and too costly to maintain. However, we decided to keep those old costly buildings anyhow and we will need money for the expensive repair bills. Taxes seldom, if ever, go down.
On the bright side these new facilities will end school violence, keep all children in school, and raise the test scores by an awesum amount. Sounds Obamaesk, doesn't it?
I am tired of funding Mr. Tyler's mistakes. He should resign or be voted out.
My estimate is that Tyler has caused the city and state to spend something like $500,000 for legal fees on cases that have been dismissed. He needs to resign or get voted out!
I cannot comment on Tyler's attorney skills. I did read that he hired a special consultant to file appeals and she missed some deadlines. Does that imply Tyler can't do it himself?
Regardless, his hiring practices seem very poor. Do something like this once? Maybe. Two times in a row? Terrible!
Tyler needs to resign or get voted out!
