It's true, photographers take a lot of photos. We keep taking photos even when people think we shouldn't, or can't possibly, find anything else to take photos of. We take hundreds of photos on assignment to get the few that run in the paper. Sometimes my favorite photos are the ones that really have nothing to do with the assignment.

Yesterday Ernesto Ortega (also known as J.R.) and I were out at Garcitas Creek in Placedo to cover the filming of a historical documentary there. One of my favorite shots of the day was when we were all standing around waiting for another scene to begin.
