Dear Alice: I really want to try out for the play, cause it's my senior year and I want to actually do something this year. But people in drama are seen as weird and stuff at my school, and I don't want to be seen like that. Especially my last year of high school. I don't know what to do, risk my rep or go out for something? -Risked Reputation

Dear Risked Reputation: Drama students aren’t at all weird; they just enjoy different things than other circles of people. It’s unfair for you to think something about a group of people from others’ opinions before getting to know them. I think that going out for the play will be good for you, and it won't hurt your reputation. It will probably help it because it shows you actually go out and work. I bet you will find that you really like drama, and that the people in theater are just like you. Don't ever hold yourself back from an opportunity because you follow other people's stereotypes. You don’t want to look back one day and wish you had done more in high school because you were afraid of what other people would think. -Lots of Love, Alice
