In the height of wedding season, I'm working on a story about women changing their last names after marriage.

According to wedding website TheKnot.com, 86 percent of women of the 19,000 surveyed took their husband's name. That means 14 percent didn't.

Celebrity socialite Kim Kardashian didn't change her name after she married Kris Humphries last August. Part of me wonders if she knew the marriage wouldn't last. I'm a journalist and just naturally curious.

But I'm sure there are other women who haven't for professional or sentimental reasons.

I'm trying to find ladies from the Crossroads on both sides of the issue and would love to get your feedback. Please call 361-580-6514 or e-mail cdoty@vicad.com if you have a strong opinion or would like to share your story.
