Enter nearly any retail store and the fact hits you square in the face: Halloween is almost here.

And, while it means some are stocking up on candy and still others are gathering ghoulish decor, the upcoming holiday also means many people out there are scurrying to find the perfect costume.

Nationwide, people will spend an estimated $2.5 billion on Halloween costumes this year, according to a National Retail Federation news release.

When it comes to the most popular costumes, adults went traditional this year, with witches, pirates and vampires all topping the list. For kids it's princesses (seventh year in a row that one's come in first,) witches and Spiderman.

But don't forget the dog - Pet costumes are also big sellers, and this year's favorite costumes are pumpkins, devils and hot dogs.

As for me, I haven't decided yet. Hmm... Any suggestions? What are you guys going as this year?
