  • Obama and Romney may agree on how not to sink the ship, but have very different plans on how to get it onto a more successful path.

  • Romney may not be so bad but that was yesterday when he told Times Mark Harpin,"pushing drastic spending cuts during shaky economic times is a prescription for "recession or depression."That's exactly what the CBO and this administration has been saying...He went on to say ""Well because, if you take a trillion dollars for instance, out of the first year of the federal budget, that would shrink GDP over 5 percent. That is by definition throwing us into recession or depression. So I'm not going to do that, of course," Romney said

That puts both nominees on the same track but who is going to tell the Tea Party and Paul Ryan?....Romney is known for changing his mind.

  • Obama did have a couple of budgets that were soundly defeated in both chambers.

You say "he" as he is a dictator...The House of Representatives controls the purse strings and as of Jan. of 2011 that chamber has been in GOP control. ..You really need to read the article because it doesn't say anything about NOT spending..It's comparing it to 60 years of past presidents.

I'm sorry but I don't want to spend all my time doing research for people...I do remember thet Congress did not pass a budget resolution or a spending bill in 2009 or 2010;a hint, the threat of a government shutdown got a last minute spending bill through....The GOP is using the "debt ceiing" as a way to curtail spending with extentions..We had the super committee and the sequester but these steps are necessary and to keep the government going since the Republicans will not consider $1.00 in revenues for $10.00 in spending cuts.

I hope this answered some of your questions but your argument is with the Management and Budget, the author of the article and Politifact. ..They could all be wrong...:-)

  • Only have two brief comments - I was under the impression that Obama has never had a budget - can you lead me to the approved budget for his first three years in office?

    And

If he isn't spending it - where is the money - if he truly isn't spending any money seems we don't have a problem - debt ceiling can actually be lowered.
