Tired of having to go to various sites just to find news about the storm?

We are too. So to help you figure out whether you will be needing an umbrella or to look for higher ground, you can go to our Hurricane Central page for updates.

On the page you will be able to monitor the movement of the storm with the interactive map.

You can also watch your tweets and the tweets of others appear in real-time by using the hashtag #Don or the keywords Tropical Storm in your tweet.

Twitter is a great way to "instant message" others about similar topics. Reply to a tweet and find out more about how the storm is affecting people in other regions.

Also on our Hurricane page, you will find the most current blog posts from our staff under Local Hurricane News.

Want to know how the storm is affecting family members and friends in other cities or states? Check out our National Hurricane News tab on the Hurricane Central page.

If you fancy yourself a photographer or just want to share your view of the storm with others, add your photo to our Storm category in YourPhotos. You can also email photos from your computer or phone to share@victoriaadvocate.net.

It is good to know when the storm is coming, but it is just as important to know what to do in the case of a hurricane or tropical storm. You can access that information along with other useful links on the Hurricane Central page.

Tomorrow we will be keeping an eye on the storm, and to facilitate information flow to you we will be using Cover It Live. This will allow you to see real-time tweets about the storm as well as status reports from our reporters. You can comment on the news and even give your own updates. We encourage and welcome you to join us.
