Blogs » Technology Is Your Friend » How to block those annoying game request on Facebook

Oh hi, Lucy from that one college class and who I never really talked to but looked smart so I figured I would add you on Facebook and now I am tortured relentlessly by your needy Sorority Life/Farmville requests.

I could just delete you but you're actually a professional in the industry and we have mutual friends so I don't want to snub you on social media because you'll probably blog about it.

But if I get one more notification that says you need my help finding a Colorful Stone Necklace or planting some corn, I'm going to go crazy.

If you have a "Lucy" in your life that you want to stop receiving game invites from, you can do that in a couple of steps without having to defriend.

Step one: Locate the App Center on the left hand menu in your home screen.

Step two: Click Requests

Step three: Click on the X in the right hand corner of the request. It will ask you if you want to block all requests from this game, select yes and wave your arms in the air like you just don't care.

And if that isn't enough. You can go to your privacy settings. You can find this in the top right hand corner of the page. Click on the arrow and a drop down menu will appear.

Then click Manage Blocking.

And you can manually type out names of games you never want to see invites from. It auto fills, too.

This might take a few minutes, but think of all the worry-free Facebooking you can do. No more farmers and mafia wars to ruin your social media experience. Be free.
