Can you believe 2012 is already more than halfway done? It's hard to believe that summer is nearly gone and school will be back in session. Halloween is creeping around the corner and soon we will be ringing in the new year. OK, maybe not that soon, but it does seem like it was just a little while ago that I was writing a blog announcing GC's Green Issue. On July 25, the newest issue of The Magazine of the Golden Crescent will hit doorsteps, business and location throughout the area.

Inside, readers can learn about a teenager's love of animals, a Victoria attorney's passion for bicycle riding and Port Lavaca's annual Flip Flop Festival. This August/September issue offers new things to do in the Golden Crescent including fishing on the Gulf, cooking classes in Cuero and more.

If you can't find a copy near you, they are available at the Victoria Advocate office, 311 E. Constitution, in downtown Victoria. Let me know what you think of the magazine. I love to hear from our readers, call me at 361-574-1224 or email me at If you have an idea for a story, I will jot them and try to fit them into upcoming issues.

I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed working on it.

Happy reading!
