Fresh off the heels of a powerful 50th anniversary season, the Victoria Bach Festival has announced the launch of “50 for 50th,” a new campaign inviting 50 individuals to become monthly donors in support of the Festival’s next 50 years.

The campaign is seeking 50 supporters to commit to monthly gifts—at any level from $10 to $500—to ensure that the Festival can continue to bring world-class music, meaningful community outreach, and exceptional educational programming to South Texas year after year.

“For five decades, the Victoria Bach Festival has created space for beauty, reflection, and connection through music,” said David Faskas, President of the Festival’s Board of Directors. “This campaign invites our community to become part of the legacy—by helping sustain the Festival not just for today, but for generations to come.”

Besides supporting the organization’s continued work, those that contribute to the 50 for 50th campaign will receive a special commemorative pin, will be listed on the campaign page established on victoriabachfestfestival.org and will receive all sponsorship benefits per the level of giving.

Founded in 1976 and now under the artistic leadership of Alejandro Hernandez-Valdez, the Festival has grown into a nationally recognized celebration of orchestral, choral, and chamber music. Each June, it brings together local and nationally acclaimed artists for a vibrant week of performances—from intimate solo recitals and outdoor concerts to blockbuster oratorios and world premieres.

The 2025 season—marking the Festival’s 50th anniversary—offered a dynamic mix of past and present, including performances of Bach’s Mass in B Minor, a moving tribute to VBF supporter Robby Burdge, and the world premiere of Symphony No. 1 by Latin GRAMMY®-nominated composer Juan Pablo Contreras, commissioned exclusively for the golden season.

  • “This year reminded us why the Festival matters—not just artistically, but emotionally and spiritually,” said Executive Director Wm. Buck Moore. “We saw full audiences, standing ovations, and a shared sense of joy that music still has the power to unite. Now, through this campaign, we’re inviting our supporters to carry that spirit forward.”

Monthly donors provide crucial, steady support for the Festival’s mission to offer outstanding music that is accessible, inclusive, and rooted in community. Contributions directly fund artist fees, local performances, student concerts, and year-round outreach throughout the South Texas region.
