WACO – Alyssa Carter made the most of her week in Gulf Shores, Alabama, for the Texas A&M University-Victoria softball team.

The Sugar Land native hit .438 over five games, driving in four runs with a pair of doubles at the Gulf Coast Invitational. She delivered a decisive two-run double against Bethel (TN) in the tournament finale on Sunday.

After that performance, the Red River Athletic Conference named her its Player of the Week on Monday, March 9.

This is the second week in a row for a Jaguar to win Player of the Week honors after Madison Carr earned the accolade last week with her clutch hitting against Texas A&M-San Antonio.

Thanks to hits in each of the Jaguars’ five games last week, Carter has now hit safely in each of the last 12 games for A&M-Victoria and has hits in 13 of the last 14 games. During her 12-game hitting streak, she’s hitting .514 with 13 RBIs.

Carter’s 19 RBIs this season is tied for the third most in the RRAC. The Jaguars’ 128 runs scored this season ranks 24th nationally while their .344 team batting average ranks 29th.
